Fr. Ed Hopkins

Father Hopkins was born in Fort Worth, TX and primarily grew up in Houston, TX. His father is retired and lives in Fort Worth, and his sister lives in Keller, TX. 

 

Father Hopkins received his B.S. from Texas Christian University with a double major in Psychology & Religion in 2001 and his Master of Business Administration in 2009 also from TCU. Father Hopkins spent two years as an elementary special education teacher in Katy, TX before moving to Washington, D.C. where he worked as Director of Business Development and Operations for several years at a national trade association.

 

Father Hopkins was raised Southern Baptist and was confirmed into the Catholic Church on April 7th, 2012, in Washington, D.C. He discerned a vocation as a Benedictine monk at St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, PA for nearly two years before becoming a seminarian for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. He attended Assumption Seminary in San Antonio where he obtained his Master of Divinity and Master of Arts (Theology) from Oblate School of Theology. He has also served as the Director of Campus Ministry at TCU. 

 

Father Hopkins was ordained on May 20th, 2023, and on July 1st started as the Parochial Vicar at St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield, TX.

 

Father Hopkins loves dogs, music, TCU football and baseball, and comedy.
