Funeral Preparation

Funeral Preparation

“At the death of a Christian, whose life of faith was begun in the waters of Baptism and strengthened at the Eucharistic table, the Church intercedes on behalf of the deceased because of its confident belief that death is not the end, nor does it break the bonds forged in life. The Church also ministers to the sorrowing and consoles them in the funeral rites with the comforting Word of God and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.” (Order of Christian Funerals, no. 4)

Planning a Funeral Mass for a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences we will face.

When a loved one is seriously ill…

Please call St. Jude's main office (817)473-6709 and request that the priest visit to give the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. The main office can also make arrangements for an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist to visit your loved one, pray with them, and give them Holy Communion.

When a death occurs…

Please call St. Jude's main office (817)473-6709. The receptionist will take down information about your loved one, your contact information, and which funeral home will be assisting your family.

This is the manual for Funeral Preparation: Family or Funeral Home needs to contact the Parish Office for inquiring the time and day for the celebration of the Funeral of the Loved One.

Then review the following document before setting a meeting to meet with the Pastor or Representative to plan for the Celebration of Christian Funeral.
