St. Jude's Elementary Faith Formation program strives to accompany you in guiding your children to grow in their relationship with Jesus and to learn about the beautiful teachings of the Catholic faith.

Students in grades Kinder-5th are invited to register for Elementary Faith Formation.

1st and 2nd grade students are encouraged to join the Sacrament Preparation class for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

Holy Communion - Year One: For students in grades 1–4, this class is the first year of preparation for Holy Communion. It introduces key elements of our faith in an age-appropriate and engaging way. This year is focused on learning and growing; no sacrament will be received until Year Two. Class meets Sundays from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.

Holy Communion - Year Two: In this second year of Holy Communion preparation, students in grades 2–4 will continue growing in faith and will prepare to receive the sacrament of First Communion. Classes are held on Sundays from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, and they will receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion during the spring of 2026.

Ongoing Faith Formation (Grades K, 3–5)

This class is for students who are not currently preparing to receive a sacrament but want to continue growing in their Catholic faith. Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, and community, students deepen their understanding of God and what it means to live as a disciple.

Kindergarteners will automatically be placed in the 8:30–9:30 AM session.

Grades 3–5 will be assigned to either 8:30–9:30 AM or 11:30 AM–12:30 PM.

Elementary OCIA Year 1 (Under 5th Grade)

This is the first year of preparation for children under 5th grade who need to receive Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. In this year, students will not receive a sacrament but will learn about the Catholic faith and grow in their relationship with God.

Class meets on Sundays from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

*Required Documents: If Baptized, Baptismal Certificate, if not Baptized you will need a Birth Certificate.

Elementary OCIA Year 2 (Under 5th Grade)

This is the second year of preparation for children under 5th grade who need to receive Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. In this year, students will receive their sacraments in the spring. The class continues to build faith and understanding of what it means to be part of the Catholic Church.

Class meets on Sundays from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.+

*Required Documents: If Baptized, Baptismal Certificate, if not Baptized you will need a Birth Certificate along with Sponsors' required documents, please see below.

*Sponsor Requirements:

• Must be a practicing Catholic in Good Standing
• Must be at least 16 years of age and Confirmed
• If married the marriage must be blessed by the Catholic Church
• The sponsor cannot be the parent of the student
• Must also be a role model of the student

***Sponsor Documents:

• Marriage Certificate (if married)
• Baptismal Certificate (if unmarried)
• Holy Communion Certificate (if unmarried)
• Confirmation Certificate
• Letter of Good Standing (if not from St. Jude Parish)
• Parish ID number (if they are from St. Jude -found under ParishSoft registration)
