Fr. Norbert Mukabwa
My name is Fr. Norbert Alfred Mukabwa, SAC, and I am grateful to serve as a Catholic missionary priest and the Parochial Vicar at St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield, Texas. I was born on January 16, 1988, in western Kenya, into a close-knit Catholic family. My parents, Alfred and Agnes, were a living witness of faith, and together with my six siblings-three brothers and three sisters-I learned early on the importance of prayer, humility, and caring for one another.
As I grew up, I began to sense God’s quiet but persistent call in my heart. What started as a simple desire to serve gradually became a clear invitation to priesthood and missionary life. After completing high school, I took a step of faith and, in 2008, joined the Pallottine Fathers (Society of the Catholic Apostolate, SAC). My formation journey led me across several countries-studying Philosophy at the Spiritan Missionary Seminary in Tanzania, completing my Novitiate in Huye, Rwanda, and pursuing theological studies at Hekima University College in Kenya. Each stage of this journey shaped me spiritually, culturally, and pastorally, and deepened my love for the universal Church.
I was ordained to the priesthood on July 8, 2017, a day that remains a profound reminder of God’s grace and faithfulness in my life. Since then, I have been blessed to serve in various parish communities for five years and to spend three years as a vocation director and promoter for my religious congregation. Walking with parishioners in their joys and struggles, and accompanying young people as they discern God’s call, has been both humbling and life-giving.
Inspired by St. Vincent Pallotti, the founder of the Pallottines, I strive to live my priesthood in love, gratitude, and generous cooperation with God’s plan for humanity. My ministry has drawn me especially close to the sick, the elderly, orphans, and young people searching for hope and direction. In their stories and struggles, I continually encounter Christ, who teaches me how to serve with compassion and joy.
Faith and the love of Christ are the foundation of my life and ministry. They sustain me each day and guide my mission to help others encounter Jesus, grow in their relationship with Him, and discover the peace, purpose, and joy that come from walking with Him.
